I read this on reddit. Now you know why Les got out. I think he barely over went over the luxury tax once. Even if Anderson is gone you are looking at 40-50mil for signing Capella if cp3 does not take a pay cut.
This is the exact information as the “Ryan anderson will cost the rockets 100 million!” Thread but yours blames capela instead of ryno
Will Deandre demand the max? Could we get a hometown discount with him and let Clint walk? Save where we can until we can rid ourselves of Ryan Anderson. BTW Clint is worth the max, he earned it but is he worth the max to the Rockets right now, I'm just not so sure. Feel free to bash, just thinking outloud.
Jesus Christ this is some stupid ****. So Capela is going to get somewhere around 15-20% of the total payroll, but somehow be attributed something like 80% of the tax??? How insanely idiotic. NBA Reddit is a cesspool of stupidity....please stop bringing it here.
wait, how can Anderson cost us $100m, and Capela, $150m Redick stole a thread idea from Clutch's front-page, and misspelled Capela ... [ClutchFans] Ryan Anderson could cost the Rockets over $100M next season as others have said, @Air Langhi, stop posting Redick stuff here, especially when they stole the idea from Clutch or another thread here. At least we know where you learned to misspell player names.
People keep thinking these huge luxury tax costs aren't a problem and Tillman is going to willingly dump all this money to circumvent the cap... well it aint no joke... People are gong to be in for a very rude awakening in the coming months when they find out Tillman is an actual businessman who's not going to be frivolous with his money... Tillman has probably told Morey "You want to re-sign these guys or bring in another star - then you better get this Ryan Anderson contract off the books - period." I was arguing with someobody who was saying to keep Ryan Anderson, bc next year his contracyt will be an expiring and you can use it to match an incoming contract... like sure, Tillman will drop another 100M to keep his contract on the off chance that it might be the contract matching silver bullet we need a year from now... lol that kind of thinking is just delusional...
Just like in Ryan Anderson equation... layering that contract over the top of the existing contracts catapults the luxury tax substantially... the more you are over - the higher the luxury tax % rises... its not a flat % - its a graduated scale.
Absolutely. My point is that every decision that's made this summer is going to contribute to that tax bill. It's not fair to just lay the blame on the LAST decision.
Fake news. 1.) Ryno is all but gone (writing on wall). 2.) Reports stated CP3 waiting to sign deal with Rockets (much like Durant to give team flexibility.) 3.) It's reddit, misspelled names, etc. 4.) We don't know what Ariza will sign for. 5.) We don't know if Capela will even get a max sheet... if he does (Morey will figure this out or get into the Cousins or whatever sweepstakes... fill in the blank.) 6.) I'm confused. 7.) Wait, why is OP posting something from REDDIT (stating this again) and taking it as bible? 8.) Too many others things to count...
See I'd say each instance is sensationalized - but fair... I mean if the Rox do their anticipated moves, having Ryno's contract does equate to an extra 100M vs if he wasnt in the mix... CC will equate to 125M or whatever... CP3 will equate to 150M or whatever... yes, its a combination that results in the expense - but thats what its working out to if we wanna keep each piece - or in Ryno's case - can't rid of... so yeh, it's sensationalized to call it one guy at X dollars - but thats the society we will live in - sensationalized sound bites... lol
