Still, this is super cool to be a Jordan brand school. Given the influence of shoe companies on basketball recruiting, I'm curious what kind of impact this has on recruiting at UH.
Wonder who is going to replace him? Feels like we haven't had a good cornerback since William Jackson left.
What the hell is going on, all these players are leaving.. I understand that with coaching transitions this happens, but I thought it would happen last season.. Losing some major pieces; Winchester, Wilder, Jones, Catalon. I get that this stuff happens but it seems like a lot lately..
Players leaving the program is one thing. Players transferring is another. I expected a few to jump ship, particularly on defense because D'Onfrio has no clue what he is doing. Not ready to panic just yet but losing upperclassmen and starters like this is very disconcerting. Feels very Dickey/Levine-ish.
Junior starting safety Colin Wilder transferring to Wisconsin. I'm at Coogcon 4 right now. This is Levine level defection.
It was inevitable after they failed to hire a top replacement and had only a so-so season. A lot of these kids could have gone to bigger schools from day 1. It isn't complete doom and gloom, the program is overall far better than it was and has a lot of potential. AGAIN it all hinges on getting into a better conference.
Nah man. I ain't having this sunshine right now. I see writing all over the walls. Things weren't this bad in terms of player turnover since 2012-13. The players are the canaries in the coal mine. And our canaries are dying left and right. DC needs to be changed ASAP. If Major's offense doesn't show up this year, he can have a pinkslip too.
My kid will be there in the Fall living in Cougar Village. Gonna need this program to be good the next 4 years in particular!
Oh I am not saying next year will be good or that Major deserves to stick around long. I was against the hire at the time, he is not a very inspiring hire. All I am saying is that the long term health of the football program is the best it has been in decades. Unfortunately it is very hard to have sustained success until they are in another conference.
Unfortunately, good assistants will only come here to network with local coaches, then take a three hour drive to either of the two best endowed football-obsessed universities in all of human history and make enough to never have to work again.
