So it was just an independent explosion that has nothing to do with the bomber? That's one huge coincidence.

Yeah, that was added later. Did APD really hashtag "packagebombmurders"?

And I would say there's lots of reason to believe this incident is related to previous package bombs given that you don't normally have a bunch of things blowing up around Austin. It's not like bomber has used one consistent MO - he/she already switched from leaving things on doorstops to trigger wires to mailing things. Why wouldn't we believe he'd change the type of weapon?

Goodwill incident is old military ordnance that was donated and ignited when handled. Not from the bomber.

Hopefully it's not someone testing a bunch of methods for something bigger.

What the hell? Who donates old ordnance to a Goodwill? This is all so bizarre.

The APD press conference was bizarre too. The Deputy Police Chief (I think that's who it was) was overly insistent that it was no big deal and not related to the bomber or a copy cat in any way. I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all but it almost seems like this incident is related to the bombings but APD and the ATF are trying to downplay it to incite a response from the bomber, as crazy as that sounds.

No idea, but that's what the assistant chief said on the live press conference. I'm thinking something like a flare. He didn't rule out filing criminal charges against the person who donated the box, but it could've been an old military memorabilia box that was taking up space and the owner just wanted to get rid of it. Who knows, maybe the person who dropped it off didn't even own it and was asked to donate boxes for an old person.

Lots of questions when things are on high alert, but it will probably get sorted out once they review the footage at the donation center.

Oh come on. Are we not Texans? Who here has truly not donated ordinance to Good Will? It's one of my family's chief tax write-offs.

EDIT: hahahah. I can't even spell ordnance.

I donate my ordnances in those Susan G Komen boxes at Randalls. Never had a problem.

This is right next to my kids' school. They're on a 2 hour delay right now, but the school is being very tight lipped about it. Kind of surreal.
