Current as of the games on 3/16

    Western Conference home court

The Rockets have 14 games left and hold the tiebreaker and a 2.5 game lead, while the Warriors have 13 games left.

    Our remaining schedule...

    8 home, 6 away (1 home and 2 travel back-to-backs):

    @ Pelicans \ back-to-back
    @ T-Wolves / back-to-back
    @ Blazers
    Pistons
    Pelicans \ back-to-back
    Hawks / back-to-back
    Bulls
    Suns
    @ Spurs
    Wizards
    Blazers
    Thunder
    @ Lakers \ back-to-back
    @ Kings / back-to-back

If the Rox go ____, the Dubs have to go ____ to regain the #1 seed:

    Rox 14 - 0 = Dubs impossible
    Rox 13 - 1 = Dubs impossible
    Rox 12 - 2 = Dubs impossible
    Rox 11 - 3 = Dubs impossible
    Rox 10 - 4 = Dubs 13 - 0
    Rox 9 - 5 = Dubs 12 - 1
    Rox 8 - 6 = Dubs 11 - 2
    Rox 7 - 7 = Dubs 10 - 3

Keep in mind that Curry and Thompson will miss the next 3 games at least.

    The Warriors remaining schedule...

6 home, 7 away (3 travel back-to-backs, all with game 2 vs Suns):

    @ Suns / back-to-back
    @ Spurs
    Hawks
    Jazz
    Pacers
    Bucks
    @ Kings \ back-to-back
    Suns / back-to-back
    @ Thunder
    @ Pacers
    Pelicans \ back-to-back
    @ Suns / back-to-back
    @ Jazz

    _____________________________________________________________________________

    Finals home court

The Rockets have 14 games left and a 2.5 game lead, while the Raptors also 13 games left and hold the tiebreaker. Here's the scenario...

If the Rox go ____, the Raptors have to go ____ to regain the #1 seed:

    Rox 14 - 0 = Raptors impossible
    Rox 13 - 1 = Raptors impossible
    Rox 12 - 2 = Raptors impossible
    Rox 11 - 3 = Raptors 13 - 0
    Rox 10 - 4 = Raptors 12 - 1
    Rox 9 - 5 = Raptors 11 - 2
    Rox 8 - 6 = Raptors 10 - 3
    Rox 7 - 7 = Raptors 9 - 4

    The Raptors remaining schedule...

    7 home, 6 away (3 travel back-to-backs):

    Thunder
    @ Magic \ back-to-back
    @ Cavs / back-to-back
    Nets
    Clippers
    Nuggets
    @ Celtics \ back-to-back
    @ Cavs / back-to-back
    Celtics
    Pacers
    Magic \ back-to-back
    @ Pistons / back-to-back
    @ Heat

Also, if my thinking is correct, we're already guaranteed home court advantage for the first AND second rounds. It's practically impossible for anyone other than the Warriors to pass us in the WC, and we'd have a higher seed than all the other teams in the playoffs.

At this point, Rockets just need to stay healthy. Rest guys as much as you can.

In almost 150 combined seasons in the big 3 leagues, I'm pretty sure no Houston team has ever had the best record in their sport.

It is amazing that we are at the point today (3/17) that GSW and Toronto have the same record, AND Toronto has the tie breaker over the Rockets so in effect, the Rockets have to really keep an eye on the Raptors.

Raptors lost to OKC. The magic number to clinch the #1 overall record in the league is now 10.

Im interested in the Lakers game to see how much they have in the tank. All the Lakers have is hustle and nothing left to lose. They can't tank and what better way to end the season than a winning record against the no.1 seed?

That's also a typical game we'd lose in past seasons where we let the foot off the pedal.

The Rockets will win the NBA Finals if they don't lose anymore home games the rest of the way.

Just have to win 2 more ROAD games (There are 5 left) OR need 2 Warriors losses/2 Raptors losses + win all 8 of their remaining HOME games.

Then they would go to the Playoffs with home court throughout.

Basically, 9 more wins we get HCA throughout the playoffs. Let’s go!

If the Rockets go 8-4 and the GSW go undefeated, and the GSW end up with the #1 seed, Rockets #2...

Then the Rockets have bigger problems then their seeding.

"Limping" into the playoffs on an 8-4 streak won't be a good sign (unless they like lose the next 4 or something, then go 8-0)

The Warriors ain't going undefeated. Given their remaining schedule and current injury situation, they could easily lose 5-6 more games the rest of the way.

The magic number is now 9 BTW.

8-4 is hard to see when 6 of the last teams we play are under .500. Stay focused Houston.
