If USF loses to 2-8 Tulsa, is there any SEC bylaw that automatically disqualifies Charlie Strong from applying for any of the league's openings? I'll hang up and listen.

Just posted in the weekly thread last night that I thought Mora would get another season just based on there still being some leftover shine from the ten-win season he enjoyed there (not to mention a $12 million buyout), but I'm also not shocked that he's gone.

Los Angeles is a low-key college football-crazed area, and I think the Bruins missed a huge chance during those years when USC was tripping over itself during the Kiffin/Sarkisian years.

They're bandwagoners. When they're good, people get all kinds of excited.

I hadn't given it a ton of thought beforehand, but based some of the reporting (including this piece from SB Nation's college football reporting corps), it seems like this is going to be a coaching carousel where the timing of everything matters a lot.

There's been a lot of smoke around Florida and Chip Kelly, but he's supposedly been sniffing around some west coast jobs, and with UCLA now open, that might complicate things there. Florida also has interest in Scott Frost, but so does Nebraska, and there's been some suggestion out there that they are already close on a deal. The SB Nation reporting added that if Willie Taggart leaves Oregon to take a job, though, Frost might be more interested in going back to Eugene.

In that way, the sheer number of big jobs that are going to be open is going to make things messy.

I doubt Willie Taggert leaves Oregon for the SEC considering the crazy recruiting class they have coming. If he does leave, that would be a huge blow to the program.

I'll say it again: Chip Kelly ain't nothing special. Everybody is doing tempo now. That was the only reason his college offense was unique. His Oregon playbook was actually quite small.

Why would Jimbo Fisher leave FSU to be 2nd banana in another state, and have to play Alabama every year?

    These "rumors" man...

All stems from Fisher being good friends with A&M AD and him maybe wanting out of Tallahassee due to his divorce. Will believe it when I see it though. Walking away from FSU right now would be pretty nuts.

A lot of interesting notes. Wonder how much Florida actually wants in on the Frost sweepstakes if they're asking him to keep Shannon. Think Frost is NU bound so maybe moot though.

Chip to UCLA is a better fit than Florida IMO. Both programs have recruited well the past few years so the talent is there at each. The PAC could be wide open next season with USC, UCLA, Washington and Washington State all resetting at QB.

Lateral or backwards move, but does seem plausible. I'd rather have Chip. But whatever.

    was just googling their schedule.
Their strength of schedule is so ridiculous.
How do you gauge how good a team they are?

The UH job may be available as Applewhite continues his Levine impression.

Can't go 7-9 if you only play 12 games.

Jeff Fisher has more lives than the cat that had 9 lives in the first place.

    Somehow that guy is teflon.
