James Harden on Kevin McHale: "He's a clown. He never taught me anything"

As many as he wants to answer your question.

What McHale says or does has no bearing on James, the Rockets, and everything in between. If I was James, I would've said no comment or sorry he feels that way and keep it moving. Let McHale sit there and look like and old bitter man, instead now he's getting street cred cause he mentioned that instance where James asked for better defense from his teammates, and they shook their head. From that little excerpt, McHale's cred went way up. Harden retaliating only makes it worse.

Just avoid it, and let McHale look like an old, salty, crippled dumbass b**** he is.

I don't support what McHale said. But just being a great offensive player does not make you a good leader. I believe the whole debacle of the 15-16 season was mainly about the lack of leadership, from McHale to Harden to Howard. (In a way, it all ultimately pointed to Morey and Alexander for letting it happen like that.) All of them were guilty. None of them were leading and the team fell apart. McHale is pretty much the kettle laughing at the pot. To be fair, I think McHale's comment was just an offhand jab, not really a serious intentional statement. Still pretty bad though.

The post I was responding to said that Harden shouldn't have responded but let his play do the talking.

And now you're saying the quality of his play means nothing.

    Which one is it?

    100% wrong.

McHale loses 'street cred' from players (both current and former) the moment he goes on national TV and blabbers on about locker room issues with former players (real or imagined). The locker room is a sanctuary. McHale absolutely knows this and essentially proved that he's still bitter and unwilling to move on.

If he wants to go there, then let's talk about how the entire locker room basically QUIT on McHale 11 games into the season. There's some 'street cred' for you.

McHale is a big-time HOF player. Bad coach or not, he can't be considered "a clown" in commenting on NBA players. Glad to see Harden defend himself though.

This is unfortunate. Mchale should have just shut his fn pie hole. Glad Harden defended himself.

What kinda criteria is that? Barkley and Shaq were better players and widely considered "clowns" on TNT.

Should I bring up Drexlerism, too?

Let's dispel with this fiction that Kevin McHale doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing.

I remember my occasional jabs at McHale. Some were in the "McFail" department so I quit, but otherwise, damn, talk about getting jumped on by all the middle aged white males. How many native Minnesotans do we have here, anyway?

    Nice guy, bad coach.
