14-team, non-PPR, snake draft, 9th pick. 1. AJ Green 2. DeMarco Murray 3. Dalvin Cook 4. Martavis Bryant 5. Rob Kelley (bad pick) 6. Andy Dalton (reach, but QBs were going quick and I wouldn't have another pick until 8th round) 7. Michael Thomas (keeper) 8. Zach Ertz 9. Jordan Matthews 10. Samaje Perine 11. Robby Anderson 12. Eli Manning 13. Jonathan Williams 14. Jaron Brown 15. Marquise Goodwin 16. Donnel Pumphrey I'll grab a K and DST week of the first games and hope one of these later round guys benefit from performance or injury.
First two picks... great. Cook is a good rookie to take a swag at. I suspect he goes in that round too. Kelly and Dalton? Ertz is a good pick. The rest... who knows.
Eli is steal in the 12th. I don't like your 3-6 but 14 teamers are tough. Good luck! What round did the D. Foreman end up going?
Overall I like it. If QBs were flying off the board, Dalton pairs nicely with Green for QB/WR stack production. I would never draft Marquise Goodwin, however. You know he is incapable of fantasy production. Perhaps another rookie WR like Dede Westbrook would have been a smarter stab at that late juncture. Not like it will matter much in the long run, but I like lottery tickets at the bottom of the barrel rounds more than guys who have proven they are worthless.
I've finished in the top 3 of my league every years since it's existed and never won, so I decided to change up my strategy this year and drafted in a totally different way. Yahoo gave me a good grade, but I'm not super happy with my team. It's 12 Team .5ppr QB: Aaron Rodgers RB: Davonte Freeman RB: Marshawn Lynch WR: Brandin Cooks WR: Jarvis Green WR: Willie Snead TE: Dealnie Walker K: Matt Bryant DEF: New England Bench: -Martellus Bennet -Brandon Marshall -James White/Dion Lewis (I wanna see who ends up being the pass catching RB before I drop the other one) -Kareem Hunt -LA Defense
Just finished my PPR 12 team draft with my work buddies... They fu**in suck: QB: M. Mariota RB: M. Gordon, L. Fournette WR: AJ Green, T. Pryor, M. Crabtree TE: D. Walker Def: Cincy D. K: Gani Bench K. Hunt R. Cobb C. Coleman J. Maclin D. Moncrief Everyone loaded up on QBs and RBs early so I took what I was given. I'm sure I can trade for a quality RB plus jacquizz is still on the wire for the 1st 3 games.
Wrapped up 10 team PPR draft with the 6th overall pick: QB: Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck RB: Melvin Gordon, Christian McCaffrey, Kareem Hunt, Ameer Abdullah, Thomas Rawls WR: Odell Beckham Jr., Martavis Bryant, Stefon Diggs, Corey Coleman TE: Delanie Walker Def: Cardinals K: Matt Prater Thoughts?
Your team looks strong to me. You are covered qb wise to me, and could potentially trade a strong bench player and one of the qb's if both are healthy and in the top 5 for a top 10ish rb/wr. I am in my annual 10 team league also, although it is .5 ppr QB: Kirk Cousins, Cam Newton RB: Melvin Gordon, Jay Ayaji, CJ Anderson, Doug Martin, Thomas Rawls WR: TY Hilton, Terelle Pryor, Michael Crabtree, Sammy Watkins TE: Zach Ertz, Martellus Bennett I'm going to have a hard time deciding who to start at QB the first week (maybe it's smarter to start Cousins since I have Pryor) and will be hard I assume on who to start in the flex later on in the season.
Strong squad overall, could use some help at TE if anything but overall you're solid with depth at all the other positions. There's quite a few up and coming options on the wire I'm sure as well i.e. Cook, Hooper, Ebron etc. Stick with Cousins week 1, it's tempting to start Cam vs. San Fran but Philly vs. Washington has potential to be a high scorer.
I am the defending champ and drafted 12th -- PPR/ 4 keeper league I kept David Johnson (8th rounder), Jordan Reed (7th rounder), Tyreek Hill (12th Rounder), and Jordan Hill (13th Rounder). This is the league's 20th year -- there were 34 total keepers. Prize money is $1500 for 1st place. _____ Cam Newton QB | CAR @SF Sun 4:25pm 11 15 23 99% 76% 293.36 349.12 354.74 RB Jordan Howard RB | CHI ATL Sun 1:00pm 9 8 20 100% 97% 240.00 240.00 248.60 RB David Johnson RB | ARI @DET Sun 1:00pm 8 1 12 100% 99% 418.60 317.20 350.70 WR Brandin Cooks WR | NE KC Thu 8:30pm 9 11 19 99% 94% 257.00 223.60 229.90 WR Amari Cooper WR | OAK @TEN Sun 1:00pm 10 10 31 99% 94% 242.20 236.40 235.40 WR Tyreek Hill WR | KC @NE Thu 8:30pm 10 21 7 94% 62% 226.80 226.80 204.70 TE Jordan Reed TE | WAS PHI Sun 1:00pm 5 3 2 98% 73% 178.20 181.80 196.20 DST Chiefs DST | KC @NE Thu 8:30pm 10 3 2 98% 86% 176.00 170.00 150.00 K Matt Prater K | DET ARI Sun 1:00pm 7 7 17 66% 52% 131.00 98.00 111.40 Reserves _____ QB Andy Dalton QB | CIN BAL Sun 1:00pm 6 16 15 86% 19% 298.28 289.94 299.14 RB D'Onta Foreman RB | HOU JAC Sun 1:00pm 7 49 9 23% 0% 0.00 0.00 79.40 RB Terrance West RB | BAL @CIN Sun 1:00pm 10 27 17 91% 28% 179.20 108.40 161.80 WR Jeremy Maclin WR | BAL @CIN Sun 1:00pm 10 41 2 86% 20% 118.80 224.90 192.60 WR Willie Snead WR | NO @min Mon 7:10pm 5 27 3 94% 49% 204.08 200.08 213.40 TE Eric Ebron TE | DET
I like this team. Looks like a fine late round QB draft. However, I would like it a lot more if it wasn't full PPR. Your top 3 WRs may be more TD/yards dependant as they don't usually gobble up targets. This is offset a bit by Jordan Reed, but he comes with the injury risk, and Washington has upgraded their WRs around him. I think Maclin and Snead were good picks based on your team makeup as they will allow you to sit Hill when he doesn't have a good matchup. Maclin obviously also carries injury risk and Snead comes with a capped ceiling. Amari has been overdrafted every season which is why I have never owned him once in any league I've been in. He just hasn't been a focal point in the red zone at all. It really isn't a case of expected TD regression to the mean either, they just really don't throw to him in the red zone so he has to rely on long TDs which are extremely volatile. I do expect an uptick in production from Cooper this year, but he would be more on my fantasy radar if he scored more often. Good luck!
The top 34 players in the league are keepers so our draft is tricky -- picking at 12th all the tier 1/2 WR were gone so I went with Cooper/ Cooks -- they were easily the best WR still available.
Sure. Like I said, I like the draft for the most part, and as long as DJ and Reed produce, I think thats a good team, I just think you will experience some high variance WR output.
Really looking for suggestions on where I can improve (standard, one W/R/T), I drafted 12th: QB: Ben Roethlisberger, PITT RB: Melvin Gordon, LAC RB: Kareem Hunt, KC WR: Odell Beckham, Jr, NYG WR: Alshon Jeffery, PHI TE: Coby Fleener, NO K: Matt Prater, DET DST: LAR BEN: Kelvin Benjamin, CA BEN: Keenan Allen, LAC BEN: Tevin Coleman, ATL BEN: Rob Kelley, WAS BEN: Terrance West, BAL BEN: Andy Dalton, CIN Originally drafted Samaje Perine and dropped him to add Kareem Hunt. Our league gobbles up QBs (Bortles was drafted 147 and Cutler 159) so even though I hate using a roster spot for a QB2 if Ben gets hurt the best FAs are Goff and Hoyer. I know I suck at TE but there was a big run in Rnd 11 so Fleener was best left. West is my weakest link... FAs available include RB: Charles, Burkhead, Murray, Kamara, Carson, Lewis, Procise. WR: Corey Davois, Amendola, Westbrook, Ginn Jr, Stills, Kupp, Golladay, Ross, Torrey Smith. TE: OJ Howard, Njoku, Cook, ASJ, Engram, and McDonald. DST: BUF, PHI, JAX. Or suggested trades?
I ended up dropping Bennett for Corey Coleman. Also dropped Rawls for Jamal Charles. I wonder how Coleman will pan out with Kizer.
Solid pickup. I feel like regardless Coleman will be gaining the most targets out of that offense. Plus they'll be playing from behind a ton with their defense still subpar. I'm not sure about Charles... there are a ton of mouths to feed in that Denver backfield; Anderson, Henderson, Charles, and potentially Booker if/when he returns. Their defense will be what keeps them in games so one of those could become the grind-it-out back... or the dreaded committee. Good work overall though!
