A different GM like Morey may have done it a bit different but in the end I think it was the right decision. They have some good young pieces that need the experience. Once Kobe's era was officially numbered, a fresh start was in order. The development of the lakers core shall be interesting in the next couple years and whether or not they can get a big FA or two to come along at some point

That's a little different. The Rockets were in a holding pattern because of Yao's health. Once he officially retired in 2011, they could begin to move on. They only had one more season in limbo in 2011-12(although they should've made the playoffs and choked that away) before Morey pulled off the Harden heist.

The Mavs will always be a treadmill team unless they acquire a superstar some way, either through FA, trade, or lucky drafting. They have some good pieces though like Curry, Barnes, Noel, and Ferrell.

Cuban is so jealous that he doesn't have an organization that can rebuild without tanking. It kills him that Morey can do this.

They have better odds of getting into the top 3 in the lottery than beating GS or SA. If I was a Mavs fan I'd rather tank

Still barely hanging alive I guess.

I hope they get 6th seed so the Macs and @swyyyguy will be obliterated 4-0 by the Rockets

Last time they were a dysfunctional team with a not so satisfied Rajon Rondo in front.

Unfortunately, I think getting Noel for nothing, developing Curry, and finding Ferrell more or less makes this season a win for them regardless of finish. Plus Barnes turning into an off-brand Michael Finley.

I wonder if they'd trade it all for Cousins?

Holiday would be a good piece for them, i wonder if we have some sort of interest in him too, at least as a plan B, C or whatever...would actually be kinda funny after we signed Gordon and Anderson...Davis would be the last piece at that point lol

They have/had D-Mo, Asik, Casspi, Alonzo Gee, Reggie Williams and Terrence Jones... Harden would be the last piece at that point.

Does this elevate Dallas to being a playoff team? It seems to me they'd be a peripheral playoff team, at best....that unless they hit big time in the draft (or, less likely, free agency) that a move like this is going to secure the 8/9 spot for a little while.

Is Jrue Holiday healthy enough to play real minutes?
