Bill is great, but I'm excited to hear something new. Also, I wish Bill would bow out differently. Pulling a Clyde isn't really graceful. Why not retire completely after 20 games or so? Hand Ackerman the keys.

Damn this makes me really sad. I can't imagine watching a season of Rockets basketball without Bill commentating.

He did a EXCELLENT job, Rockets legend in my eyes.

Going into next season with Koby, Duncan and Worrell, feels bad man.

Bill is an absolute legend and was one of the best. I feel like he's been a part of my life forever and will miss his voice on the broadcast. Could he be a homer at times, sure but it's a home broadcast and he is a huge fan. I wouldn't expect anything less.

It's the right time - but I will still miss Bill! His voice immediately brings me back to some of the key moments over the last 20 years.

Ugh not a fan of Ackerman, dude tries too hard and his "excitement" is so forced. I hope he tones it down for TV.

Bill is obviously a Rockets legend so he will be missed despite the issues I've had with him in recent years.

But thank god we're getting a new PA announcer. I hated that old announcer's voice.

Bill's a Houston sports legend. Seems like a great guy, too. Good luck, Mr. Worrell.

(please take Clyde with you... )

I'm with you on that. Love Bill's commentary. He's been a staple of the Rockets for many years. I'm sad to see him go.

I don't particularly love the breh, but he has been around for so long that I can't imagine not hearing him during Rockets games.

OTOH, great news... now Drexler will have an opportunity to shine even more!

I was thinking...other than my immediate family, there's probably no one else I have heard speak more in my life than Bill Worrell. I'll miss him.

Yeah, the Rockets should hire the man they dumped for Pringles to do some home games for the organization. Come on, man.

Not a fan of CA. America's team? That is ridiculous.
