Memorial Aquatic Center looks awesome, but you have to buy a $60/month membership to their club in order to access the pool. My fitness budget is already tied up elsewhere, so I can't afford to add that on top. Anyone know if any lap pools are available for use without buying a gym/YMCA membership? Like with a per-use fee (like Deep Eddy in Austin)?
Doesn't the Stude Park pool have adult swim times? Here's a whole list of the public pools. Not all of them will be big enough. Keep us posted if you find something. http://www.houstontx.gov/parks/aquatics.html Here's a map of the "Swimwise" sites.
$12 gets you a day pass to the entire UH rec center. http://www.uh.edu/recreation/member_services/day_pass.html#community
I think swimming pools would be a lot more interesting if they were shaped like Formula Grand Prix tracks.
