King has been a long-time jerk with his policy positions and statements. There are few politicians that I like less than him.

I'm not surprised the party of Lincoln did this, but I am surprised that it King is not a southern Republican.

We have come up to the tipping point where republicans have to realize they can't do things like this any longer if they ever want to win a national election at any time in the near future.

Steve King looks like an evil/Wario version of Paul Begala.

    Have we?

How many months post election will there be conspiracy theories that Donald Trump is a paid "New York insider", a Manchurian Candidate, who was Hillary's ticket to the presidency?

It doesn't matter that idiots, bigots and crazies voted him in the primaries. What matters to the connies are principles and gut feelings. Something's wrong, and it aint them that's wrong. It's big government and the establishment.

lol Every year they lose another percentage or two of their most racist constituency due to old age and death. Even the kids of the racists are generally not following in their parent's footsteps.

What are the .01 perecenters who call the shots in the GOP going to do when the white working class can't be fooled on racism and doesn't care about gays, or even transgendered bathrooms?

Andrew Jackson prevented the English from retaking and dissolving the United States.

I don't mind Tubman on US currency but Jackson's importance shouldn't be forgotten...

Nor will it. This congressman is an asshat. The only interesting thing to discuss is what the rest of his party will do about his stance.

They will do nothing. Half of them have figured out pandering to marginal interests (extremists.. Religion, race etc.) will get them re-elected through gerrymandering. The other half see the writing on the wall but figure their careers will be over by the time the serpents head is cut off.

This is a very transformative time period and both parties (especially Republicans) are going to be shocked by the next 15-20 years. Party loyalty means very little.

Well I guess you don't know American history very well then... Make sure you remove all references to Washington, Jefferson, Adams and Hamilton... Probably should really remove all references to any US politican since the United States was founded on a land already claimed by natives and they all either directly or indirectly supported the forced relocation/genocide of natives. There is plenty of blood to go around, and most historically significant figures did bad things as a result of exercising power and influence.

Andrew Jackson defeated the British, was the first common President, was the architect of the Democratic Party until FDR, had a huge impact on banking in the USA, expanded the area of settlement and many other highly important/influential feats.

That's not true of every region of the United States. Parts of southern Appalachia and the mid-west Plains that may very well be true.

I did get a 5 on my AP test so at some point I did know it.

He was the first president to do wide scale ethnic cleansing/genocide of the Indians.

His impact on the banking system was pretty bad. He pretty much just rewarded his supporters.

You can believe whatever you want. I don't think D&D changes anyone's mind, but it doesn't change the fact that Andrew Jackson committed wide scale genocide.
