Best 3pt shooter, one of the best shooters and one of the best handles. I'm not ready to call him the best shooter of all time. There's guy who were strictly '2pt' shooters and or made a career of that over a longer stretch of time. He could go down as best shooter though.

Stats wise there are seasons like 1961-1962 where Oscar Robertson averaged 30.8/11.4/12.5 a triple double the entire season and there was no three point shot back then.... I think it's reasonable to say that the Big O had better overall stats as did Lebron and others in different seasons.

Since Curry is not likely to average a triple double, and he's not going to win a Defensive MVP like Olajuwon and Jordan to solidify him as more well rounded; he's going to have to do it with MVP's, rings, breaking shooting records, and repeating more than 72 win seasons.

If he stays healthy his game which is based on skill rather than athleticism should be fine. Think Stockton or Eddie Johnson or Ray Allen or heck even Jet. Those players can play a loooonngg time. What will be really interesting is if his ridiculous amount of three pointers ends up with him getting anywhere near the top scoring leaders.

It's selling Curry short to brand him only as the best shooter of all time. There's a lot of shooters in NBA history but those guys mostly come off screens and can't manufacture their own shot. Dude deserves to be in the conversation of the best ever player period.

If you ask Bruce Bowen, stick your foot under him when he makes a jumpshot.

He had better raw stats, sure. But numbers from that era are notoriously inflated by the insane pace those leagues played at. I actually think Oscar Robertson has a legit case for top-five player, but if you took numbers from the '60s and early '70s at face value, then no one can even touch Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson. Not Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Hakeem Olajuwon, LeBron James, etc.

Chamberlain and Robertson were great players, but they played in a radically different environment and their numbers can't be compared directly.

Just watched the highlights, it's ridiculous. Curry is murdering defenders in every situation possible, can get his shot off at any time and is also constantly able to drive to the basket because of his incredible handles and hesitation moves.

Yesterday, I said he'll go down as top3 on offense if he keeps this up for a few seasons, but watching him makes me think he could go down as #1 (offense). Yea, guys like MJ averaged more points, but Curry is on a level never seen before, he can hit his shots no matter where on the court and with how many people defending him.

Just for comparison: Jordan averaged 27.8 fga/game in his 37ppg season, Curry is now averaging only 19.8 fga/game and still averages 30. Imagine Curry attempting 8 more shots a game, his ppg would be all-time high, while still averaging all-time efficiency.

I honestly don't see any historical player being capable of pulling off the season Curry does on offense right now. Completely unguardable, jacking up shots that would get you expelled from the team in normal situations, but he's doing them with historical efficiency and while being the player with the most attention on him in the league.
