Started watching this middle of last night since my two year old was sick and mostly up. Got 3 episodes in and it's great. Almost more enjoyable than BB season 1 ... Almost

Me too! Got it recording already.. I think they are doing a marathon of season 1 today if I am not mistaken (it is on netflix also).
I thought the first few episodes were great but it slowed down a lot as the season went on. I don't think it should have taken so long for him to come to the realization he did at the end. Not that it wasn't true to his character... Just that it wasn't great for tv... Kind of slow going. But still super high quality and I'll keep watching.
A lot of ppl forget that breaking bad had a lot of lulls. Almost to the point where u lose interest and then something insane happens. Kind of the style of this one at times. So not surprising. The show would be a zero without the old guy. So it was a good combo. I worry he may not make it through the the series
People expecting too much action or excitement, I like the subtle episodes and character development. You don't need explosions and fights to build-up a story.
Juxtaposition with him in the flash forward when he was stuck in the trash room at the mall, kind of showing his story full circle....
It was shown to make the point; he'll have to conform to others rules if he wants to be "legit". And bookend it with the opening scene; he wouldn't open the emergency exit bc he was afraid to see the police and had to wait to be let out of the garbage room.
We are seeing how Jimmy becomes Saul. This season, Jimmy is a new man, and he's breaking all the rules.
Its the binge-watching effect... so many people picked up on Breaking Bad AFTER it had already aired live, so they were able to watch a bunch of episodes consecutively. BCS is obviously going to be similar as far as the writing goes... in fact, both shows lend themselves to be binge-watched far better than simply watching it from week to week. I had already forgotten most of the Mike sub-plot and all the particulars of what the Sandpiper case was at the end of last season (hell, the first scene last night was the SAME scene as the end of season 1, and I didn't pick up on that till later)... but if you were binge watching, you would see a seamless transition between seasons 1 and 2.
Pretty much this.. I literally watched all of Breaking Bad after it was no longer filming. It is by far one of the best shows I have watched in it's entirety. I have done the same with Game of Thrones but I will have to watch this upcoming season, it is just too good to wait. Better Call Saul, I watched all of season one over the past week and a half.. Then watched the premier last night. I wish I could watch episode 2, 3 and so on tonight.
A bit slow, but really enjoyed the current day scene at the beginning. It was entertaining but hoping next week's episode picks up the pace a little bit.
