I think he'd happily take Rasmus for 2/20 or 3/25 or something. But obviously that's not going to happen. So aside from that, I agree that he (and I) would prefer the draft pick

Your DH would have been Bill Spiers/Sean Berry or Richard Hidalgo.

    Or Dave Clark.

Especially if he is going after a priority FA. Would make sense to try and recoup the first round pick that we could lose.

3 guy with sub .295 is not bad given the astros had all players except for 3 with sub .250

Good. Gattis swinging at pitches in the dirt and wide out of the strike zone is not what I want to watch next year.

wasnt Brandon Backe the best hitting pitcher dating back to 2000?

Either you can't read, or you don't know the difference between OBP and BA. And yes sub .295 is very bad.

You know the Spiers/Berry platoon at 3B that year hit .304/.381/.462/.843 and Hidalgo hit .303/.355/.474/.829 as a part-time rookie, right?

Yep.... its a shame that they had to go against Kevin Brown on 1 day rest with 1 shoe untied and he had to throw left-handed for a few innings to try and even things out.

(As it is, Berry/Hidalgo were non-factors in the playoffs... Spiers with that walkoff single in game 2 though...)

    Not a shock.

Gordon isn't a star, but he doesn't have many major flaws. You can pencil him into his spot and not have to worry about him..... he hits lefties and righties, he is a very good fielder, he make good contact, he hits with enough power to play almost anywhere in the line up and he is overall consistent.

Gordon/Gomez/Springer would make for quite the OF.

    sure as hell would.

gordon, chapman, and price/grienke, and you don't have to worry about anything for awhile. maybe need a stopgap in 2017 if gomez leaves to get to the transition to daz/tucker in 2018.
