    He said both. Very good teacher and hard worker but really alienated the media and players that he felt didn't put forth the type of effort he expected. Not a bad short term manager but he threw around the term "idiot" too often when referring to his own players.

    I liked the 1-M... learned more about the game by watching him.

    This was also right at the time analytics was becoming main-stream, but you could see he was using statistical evidence for every single one of his bullpen decisions.
